Homework Club Volunteers

CARES homework clubs provide students a quiet location to complete their homework with the support of CARES volunteers.

CARES Homework Clubs meet twice a week at each of South Kingstown's four elementary and two middle schools for one hour after school. Volunteers work with the students at a ratio of no more than one volunteer to three students.

The Homework Club is staffed by community, university and high school volunteers. Homework club volunteers meet with students to help complete homework assignments and work on reading and math skills.

To become a volunteer please complete the application and we will contact you to schedule the CARES required orientation.

Additionally, all Homework Club volunteers are required to attend a homework club training & workshop.

All CARES volunteers are required to submit to a police background check, as well as provide personal references.

Homework club kept the students on top of the work they needed to get done outside of school so as not to fall behind ... They worked very hard at HW club and received wonderful assistance from the volunteers...  They most definitely improved their homework.
