E-Mentors

If you are a busy professional with no time in your day to work with a student, you can still volunteer with CARES by becoming an E-Mentor. Community professional are matched with a ninth grade student for a two-semester program. Student and mentor will meet initially at an early morning kick-off breakfast. CARES will provide mentor and student weekly prompts for emails between the pairs. These prompts help mentor and student to get to know one another, discuss their future aspirations; colleges plans and encourage community/civic discussions. All emails are sent thorough the CARES office allowing both mentor and mentee to maintain their email privacy and allowing monitoring if necessary.

CARES will contact you to schedule an E-mentoring orientation. All CARES volunteers must complete a police background check and offer personal references. Please print up and complete the BCI check form to bring with you to the orientation. CARES can complete the notarization at the orientation.
