A South Kingstown child needs you!

South Kingstown CARES grew out of a 1995 District-wide PTO survey on volunteer usage in schools. That survey concluded that SK needed an organized, district-wide program which would benefit both our students and our community.

That conclusion was reinforced by the School Committee's primary strategic goal of community involvement and by Rhode Island's Goal 2000, which specified parental and community involvement as one of the key components of school improvement.

During the 2010-2011 school year, over 300 CARES volunteers participated in one or more of CARES four programs, logging in over 13,000 hours of educational support:

Our Mission:

South Kingstown CARES is a non-profit volunteer organization, developed as a needs-based support for the South Kingstown school district.

SK CARES will elicit and effectively utilize community resources that foster academic success within the school environment.
